Butte Creek Country Club is seeking an Equipment Manager.  The Equipment Manager is responsible for all facets of equipment operation, repair, and maintenance of golf course equipment to provide the best possible playing conditions.  This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual.


  • Implement a preventative maintenance program with accurate record keeping
  • Trains and instructs the staff in maintenance and diagnosis of all equipment
  • Upkeep of reels and bedknives which includes grinding, facing bedknives, and daily adjustment
  • Orders and stocks necessary parts for the daily upkeep of all equipment within the constraints of the operational budget
  • Tracks all expenses associated with equipment fleet upkeep
  • Completes repairs and preventative maintenance in a timely fashion
  • Responsible for the organization and cleanliness of the maintenance facility
  • Assists in development of the annual Equipment Repairs Budget
  • Works together with Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent in communicating with the crew regarding needed repairs and problems
  • Maintains a safe, organized, and clean working environment

Job Requirements

  • Five Years of golf course equipment repair and management experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of all turf and landscape equipment functions, systems and safety, cutting unit set-up, grinding, height adjustments, rollers, hydraulic theory and diagnosis, electrical theory and diagnosis, combustion engines, welding, etc.
  • Must be able to maintain a good working relationships with other employees and to work with or without supervision
  • Basic understanding of the game of golf and the effects this position has on the overall condition and playability of the golf course
  • Possess a valid driver’s license

Crystal Springs Golf Course

Position Title:    Assistant Superintendent

Position Available:   5/29/17

Course description:  Designed by Herbert Fowler and built in 1924, located within a 32,000-acre watershed above Crystal Springs Reservoir; the course is an 18-hole public golf facility near San Francisco, Ca.

Job Description:  The Assistant Superintendent will support the duties and responsibilities of the Golf Course Superintendent including, but not limited to:

  • Maintaining Golf Course, Driving Range, Wedding Site, Entry, and Clubhouse areas
  • Assisting with current programs in place such as Audubon and Wildlife at Work Certification
  • Community outreach, including First Tee program
  • Scheduling daily job assignments
  • Irrigation scheduling
  • Planning and implementing Agronomic plan
  • Fertilizer and Chemical applications

Job Requirements

  • 2-4 year Turfgrass Management Degree of related field. Ideally a minimum of 2 years golf course experience
  • Have or be able to obtain (QAL) California Pesticide License within 6-months
  • Ability to communicate and supervise the crew effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Motivated self-starter
  • Must be highly organized, efficient and detail oriented
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Bilingual is a plus

Salary & Benefits  $47,000-$53,000    Depends on experience.  Medical, dental and vision,  Local and National GCSAA dues,  Attend local meetings and seminars,  Vacation
